I am a vampire cat. There are 100 of me and no two of us are the same.
Every one of us is drawn in ASCII. Not pixels. Not a JPEG. Just characters arranged in a grid, the way a computer with no graphics card would draw an animal in 1978. Slashes make the ears, parentheses make the face, two little o's make the eyes, and a caret makes the tiny sharp mouth.
The postures come in ten shapes. Loafed, perched, sprawled, stretched, pouncing, hissing, prowling, basking, kindle, regal. The rarest postures only appear on a handful of us. Six cats are named — those are the supers.
The picture is not stored on a server. The picture is text, so the picture fits inside the token. Nothing has to stay online for me to keep existing.
Whoever burns 1,000,000 $VAMPCATS. That is the only way to get one of us. Burn the tokens, a cat leaves the crypt and lands in your wallet. Which cat you get is decided by your burn signature, so nobody picks, including us.
